...an island...a restaurant...a state of mind...

Proudly serving the lowcountry since 1946

Welcome to Bowens Island!

Whether you're a first-time guest or a long-time regular, our aim is to serve you simple, excellent seafood. Located at the tip of a 13-acre island, 5 minutes from Folly Beach, the restaurant is famous for its locally harvested oysters, fried shrimp, hushpuppies, Frogmore stew, cold beer, and its undisturbed view of river, marshes, islands, and wildlife.

There is a reason there is a line out the door in season...it is fun, a local's favorite and great food. You feel like family....off the beaten path and one fun funky place.

Rented the dock space for a rehearsal dinner and had a blast. The staff was great and so was the food. Great place for a more laid back event. And if you get the right night the sunset is awesome.

This place is true lowcountry. The food, atmosphere, and view have been able to survive all the development of the area and has become a wonderful rarity.
